What does Lemongrass Essential oil help with?

Lemongrass ( Cymbopogon flexuosus ) is a tall herbaceous plant whose essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of fresh or dried leaves. It is particularly valued in natural cosmetics for its balancing effect on oily and acne-prone skin. It is suitable for combination, oily and problematic skin, as well as for scalp care.

Lemongrass Essential oil can be used as a:

• Cleansing facial lotion - Suitable for combination and oily skin;
• Scalp serum for dandruff and oiliness - Soothes irritated scalp and regulates sebum secretion;
• Face mask for inflammation and acne - Cleanses, shrinks pores and soothes redness;
• Foot lotion for sweating and unpleasant odor - Has a deodorizing and antiseptic effect;
• Additive to shampoo for oily scalp - Refreshes, removes excess sebum and creates a feeling of cleanliness.

How do I use Lemongrass essential oil?

1. As a facial cleansing lotion

1. Mix 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel with 2 drops of lemongrass essential oil;
2. Apply to clean skin with massaging movements;
3. Rinse after 5 minutes or leave on as a light daily fluid.

2. As a scalp serum for dandruff and oiliness

1. In 30 ml of base oil ( e.g. jojoba or grape seed ) add 6 - 8 drops of lemongrass oil;
2. Massage into your scalp and leave it on for 30 minutes;
3. Wash hair with a gentle shampoo, repeat 1 - 2 times a week.

3. As a face mask for inflammation and acne

1. Mix 1 tablespoon of green clay with 1 teaspoon of water;
2. Add 2 drops of lemongrass essential oil and mix well;
3. Apply to your face, leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.

4. As a foot lotion for sweating and unpleasant odor

1. Mix 50 ml of floral water ( e.g. rose or lavender ) with 5 drops of lemongrass oil;
2. Pour into a spray bottle and shake well;
3. Spray onto clean, dry feet in the morning and evening.

5. As an addition to shampoo for oily scalp

1. Add 2 - 3 drops of lemongrass oil to a single dose of shampoo;
2. Apply to wet hair, massage into your scalp;
3. Leave it on for 2 minutes and rinse well.
