Laurel Leaf ( Laurus nobilis ) is an evergreen plant with dark green, aromatic leaves, also known as bay leaf. In addition to culinary uses, it has been used for centuries in traditional medicine for its strong antiseptic and soothing properties.

 

Laurel Leaf Essential oil is extracted through steam distillation of the tree's aromatic leaves and can be used as a:

 

  • Scalp oil for dandruff and hair loss - Promotes microcirculation, regulates oiliness and reduces scalp irritation;
  • Toner for oily and problematic skin - Has an antiseptic and balancing effect, suitable for acne, shine and inflammation;
  • Soothing oil serum for irritated skin - Helps with itching, redness and mild inflammation;
  • Massage oil for muscle pain and tension - Warms up, relaxes and aids recovery after physical exertion.

 

How do i use Laurel Leaf Essential oil?

 

1. As a scalp oil for dandruff and hair loss

 

As a scalp oil for dandruff and hair loss

 

  1. Mix 2-3 drops of laurel leaf oil with 1 tablespoon of base oil ( e.g. jojoba or castor oil );
  2. Rub gently into your scalp with massage movements;
  3. Leave on for 30 minutes and wash with a gentle shampoo;
  4. Use 1-2 times a week.

 

2. As a toner for oily and problematic skin

 

As a toner for oily and problematic skin

 

  1. Add 1 drop of essential oil to 1 tablespoon of hydrosol ( e.g. rose water ) or filtered water;
  2. Apply with a cotton pad to your face after cleansing;
  3. Use in the evening, 2-3 times a week.

 

3. As a soothing oil serum for irritated skin

 

As a soothing oil serum for irritated skin

 

  1. Mix 2 drops of oil with 1 tsp calendula or chamomile oil;
  2. Apply to affected areas with light patting;
  3. Use as needed, at night before bed.

 

4. As a massage oil for muscle pain and tension

 

As a massage oil for muscle pain and tension

 

  1. Mix 3 drops of essential oil with 1 tablespoon of sweet almond or arnica oil;
  2. Massage the affected area in circular motions;
  3. Repeat as needed, especially after sports or prolonged standing.

 

Precautions

  1. Use one drop of the essential oil and rub it into the inner part of your forearm;
  2. Wait 15 minutes;
  3. If redness, skin irritation, or any allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately.
