What does Fennel Essential oil help with?
Fennel ( Foeniculum vulgare ) is an aromatic herb with thin, feathery leaves and small yellow flowers. It has been used in folk medicine for centuries for its ability to aid digestion and balance hormone levels.
The oil is saturated with the active compound anethole, which has cleansing, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
Fennel Essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the crushed seeds of the plant and can be used as a:
- Toner for oily and acne-prone skin - Balances sebum secretion and has antibacterial properties;
- Active ingredient in a mask for skin with enlarged pores - Tightens the skin and reduces the visibility of pores;
- Serum for skin with signs of aging - The phytoestrogens in the oil promote elasticity and smoothing of fine lines;
- Hair growth stimulating mask - Stimulates blood circulation in the scalp and strengthens the roots;
- Anti-dandruff and oiliness lotion - Has an antiseptic effect and regulates scalp secretion.
How do i use Fennel Essential oil?
1. As a toner for oily and acne-prone skin
- Mix 2 drops of fennel oil with 1 tablespoon of chamomile or rose hydrosol;
- Apply the mixture with a cotton pad to clean skin;
- Use in the morning and evening as part of your daily routine.
2. As an active ingredient in a mask for skin with enlarged pores
- Mix 1 drop of fennel oil with 1 tsp of white clay;
- Add a few drops of water until a paste is formed;
- Apply to your face for 10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.
3. As a serum for skin with signs of aging
- In 10 ml of base oil ( for example, rosehip or jojoba ) add 3 drops of fennel oil;
- Shake well and store in a dark bottle;
- Apply a few drops to your face at night before bed.
4. As a hair growth stimulating mask
- Mix 2 drops of fennel oil with 1 tablespoon of castor oil;
- Rub well into your scalp with massaging movements;
- Leave it on for 30 minutes and wash with a mild shampoo.
5. As an anti-dandruff and oiliness lotion
- In 100 ml of water, add 5 drops of fennel oil and 1 tsp apple cider vinegar;
- Pour into a spray bottle;
- Spray on your scalp after washing, without rinsing.
