What does Atlas Cedarwood Essential oil help with?
The Atlas cedar ( Cedrus atlantica ) is an evergreen tree of the Pinaceae family, with a characteristic woody-resinous odor and silver-gray needles. In folk medicine, its bark and wood are used for their antiseptic and seborrheic properties - especially for problematic skin and scalp.
Atlas Cedar Essential oil is extracted from the heartwood of the tree and can be used as a:
- Oil for oily and acne-prone skin - Regulates sebum secretion, tightens pores and has an antiseptic effect, which helps reduce inflammation and pimples;
- Hair growth stimulator - Improves blood circulation in the scalp, strengthens the roots, while reducing dandruff;
- Scalp flaking oil - Relieves irritation, reduces itching and has an antifungal effect;
- Natural deodorant - Neutralizes unpleasant odors and suppresses bacteria;
- Additive in men's cosmetics - Suitable for adding to beard oils, aftershaves and creams due to its soothing effect on the skin.
How do i use Atlas Cedarwood Essential oil?
1. As an oil for oily and acne-prone skin
- In 10 ml of base oil ( e.g. jojoba ) add 2 drops of Atlas cedar essential oil;
- Always shake before use;
- Apply a few drops to a cleansed face in the evening.
2. As a hair growth stimulator
- Mix 2 drops each of Atlas Cedarwood, Rosemary, and Lavender essential oils with 2 tablespoons of carrier oil ( e.g. Argan or Black Cumin );
- Use as a scalp mask 1-2 times a week.
3. As an oil for flaking scalp
- Mix 3 drops of Atlas Cedarwood essential oil with 1 tbsp. carrier oil ( e.g. jojoba, avocado or sweet almond oil );
- Apply directly to dry scalp with massage movements;
- Cover with a warm towel and leave it on for 30-60 minutes;
- Wash with a mild shampoo.
4. As a natural deodorant
- In 10 ml of carrier oil ( e.g. jojoba or grapeseed ) add 2-3 drops of Atlas cedar essential oil;
- Apply a small amount under your armpits after bathing;
- Avoid applying immediately after shaving or on irritated skin.
5. As an additive in men's cosmetics
- Mix 2-3 drops of Atlas Cedarwood essential oil with 1 tbsp of carrier oil ( e.g. argan, jojoba or almond oil );
- Apply a few drops to your palms and spread evenly over your beard and the skin underneath;
- Use daily to soften your beard and soothe your skin.
