What does Copaiba Essential oil help with?
Copaiba ( Copaifera officinalis ) is a South American tree known for its resin, rich in natural compounds with anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.
In traditional skin and hair care, copaiba is used for its ability to soothe irritations, regulate oiliness and aid skin regeneration.
Copaiba Essential oil is extracted from the resin of the tree and can be used as a:
- Oil after bee or wasp stings ( after first aid ) - Can be used as part of a cooling gel to relieve the sensation after a sting;
- Soothing serum for tattoos and after laser procedures - Keeps the skin hydrated and clean, limiting the risk of secondary irritations;
- Massage oil for sore joints - Its natural composition has an anti-inflammatory effect when applied topically to joints and muscles;
- After-sunburn oil - Has a cooling, soothing effect on reddened and sensitive skin, especially in combination with floral waters;
- Oil for irritated and dry skin - Relieves itching and helps restore dry and flaky skin.
How do i use Copaiba Essential oil?
1. As an oil after a bee or wasp sting ( after first aid )
- After removing the stinger and cleaning the area, wait for the skin to calm down slightly;
- Mix 1 drop of copaiba oil with 1 tsp. carrier oil ( e.g. jojoba );
- Apply carefully to the area, without pressure, 1-2 times a day.
2. As a soothing serum for tattoos and after laser treatments
- Mix 1 drop of copaiba with 1 tsp of neutral balm or carrier oil ( such as shea butter );
- Apply to clean, dry skin, without rubbing;
- Repeat 2 times daily during the recovery period.
3. As a massage oil for sore joints
- Mix 3-5 drops of copaiba oil with 1 tbsp of warm carrier oil ( e.g. arnica, sesame or sweet almond );
- Massage gently into the joint area in circular motions;
- Apply in the morning and/or evening as needed.
4. As an after-sunburn oil
- Mix 1 drop of copaiba with 1 tbsp. aloe vera gel or hydrosol ( e.g. lavender, chamomile );
- Apply to the burned area with light patting movements;
- Repeat 2-3 times daily until your skin is completely soothed.
5. As an oil for irritated and dry skin
- Mix 2 drops of copaiba with 1 tsp. calendula, shea or hemp oil;
- Apply to dry and flaky areas with light massage movements;
- Use regularly, in the morning and evening, for a long-lasting effect.
