There are different ways of preparing and using horsetail.
Decoction for internal use:
- Pour 2 tbsp. grated horsetail stems in 400 ml. boiling water;
- Boil the decoction for 3 minutes, then let it soak for 1 hour;
- Strain and consume 120 ml 3 times a day after meals;
- In the treatment of uterine and hemorrhoidal bleeding, the dose can be increased up to 2 times;
- In case of hair loss, the decoction is boiled for 10 instead of 3 minutes, strained and consumed in the morning and evening in 200 ml.
Decoction for external use:
Horsetail is applied externally and in the form of poultices from crushed stalks ( for eczema and varicose veins ) or as a decoction for baths and washes ( for difficult-to-heal wounds, white discharge, etc. ).
